About TSOG
The True Spirit Of Giving AKA; TSOG was inspired by two occurrences. The first was The GYPSY’s continued frustration with the commercialization of the Christmas season. He had been becoming more and more jaded with peoples need to buy, buy, buy to prove how much they love, love, love. This avarice is continuously reinforced and endorsed by large corporations.
The second occurrence happened when a Blogger by the name of Wild Santa on www.BikerOrNot.Com who wrote a blog entitled “That’s It! I’ve Had All I can Stand!” In the blog Wild Santa states his frustration with the same thing that had been frustrating The GYPSY; The loss of the true meaning of Christmas.
Wild Santa suggested a solution: “Next year I’m going back to the basics. Going back to homemade items from people I know. On this site there are many talented people that make, produce and sell homemade items. I want a list of everyone that has that special item they are proud of….”
This echoed something that The GYPSY had been thinking and had even talked about on his Monday Morning Radio Show. Thus was born the seed of an idea that has germinated here in True Spirit Of Giving. Now it’s time for you to help it grow and bear fruit.
On TSOG anyone with any special talent or item can buy, sell and trade with other talented people. No large corporations or companies are allowed. This is a site built by Bikers for Bikers but it is also for the many talented individuals as well as the “Mom and Pop” businesses who wish to move beyond the commercialization of not only the Christmas Holiday but all gift giving occasions.
